All CCSD93 elementary schools will host Spotlight on Learning Night on Tuesday, September 15, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Teachers will provide detailed information about their classes and what students will be working on throughout the school year.
Each year, the Jay Stream PTA organizes the Jayhawk Jaunt and Walk-a-Thon fundraiser. Historically, we have been able to raise over $10,000 through this fundraiser, all of which goes back to supporting our students at school. Please see the attached letter which includes the link to our donations page.
CCSD93 will host age-appropriate programs for 4th-8th grade students in September and October designed to equip them with positive, practical mental health resources. The programs will be presented by NAMI DuPage, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness

This message is to provide an update regarding the mold growth identified at Jay Stream and the steps the district has taken to address it.
The purpose of this message is to keep you informed regarding a situation that occurred at Jay Stream Middle School today.
On Friday, students attended a pep assembly to start the year. We kicked off our Color Wars competition where grade level teams can earn points in friendly competition games. Throughout the year, grade level teams will also have opportunities to earn points for Color Wars for positive behaviors, academic achievements, and more. Our first monthly challenge for Color Wars is TEAM SPIRIT!
As part of CCSD93’s ongoing boundary review process, we invite parents/guardians, staff and community members to attend one of two identical Community Input Nights to learn more about the work underway and provide feedback on two boundary concepts currently being considered.
It was so great to welcome back returning students and welcome in students new to Jay Stream this past week! We spent the first day of school making connections in Advisory, learning about our building expectations, and practicing some of our safety drills. The students displayed outstanding behavior. On Thursday, all students went through their schedule for the first time. The building was filled with a lot of excitement and energy for the new year.

We’ve been made aware that some families may be encountering issues adding funds to their MySchoolBucks accounts through the MySchoolBucks app to pay for CCSD93 meal service.
If you encounter this issue, here are a few ways to resolve it:
- Use the MySchoolBucks website: MySchoolBucks has confirmed that parent deposits are active and working on their website.
- Refresh the app: Sign out of the MySchoolBucks app completely and sign back in. The app may still contain saved account information from the previous system.
- Reinstall the app if needed: If signing out and back in does not resolve the issue, uninstall and reinstall the MySchoolBucks app, then sign back in.

Fees for the 2026-27 school year have been applied to your TeacherEase account. This may include fees from previous years and/or additional registration purchases. Please follow the directions below to complete payment by August 11.

CCSD93 elementary school families can order pre-packaged school supply kits through SchoolKidz for the 2026-2027 school year by June 21, 2026!
Key dates for the new school year include new student orientation and student placement/busing notifications on August 12, Meet the Teacher events on August 18, and the first day of school for Grades 1-8 on August 19. Kindergarten will follow a shortened schedule on August 19 and 20 before transitioning to full days on August 21. Preschool Meet the Teacher will be held on August 20, and preschool classes begin on August 24.

This week was filled with many milestones and celebrations for our 8th grade students. It started on Tuesday evening with our 8th Grade Awards Night. On Wednesday, our PTA sponsored the annual 8th grade breakfast where students were able to view the 8th grade slideshow.
8th Grade: Student iPads and chargers will be collected in the afternoon on Wednesday, May 27.
6th & 7th Grade: Student devices will be collected on Friday, May 29.
Staff will check to make sure all devices are in working order and there is no damage. Please contact 630.588.5200 with any questions.
Online sales have ended, but you can get still get a yearbook! There are a limited number of yearbooks remaining. Bring $26 CASH or CHECK made out to Jay Stream Middle School to the school office.

Earlier this week, all families were sent a call, text and email with instructions to register returning students for the 2026-27 school year easily within minutes through the TeacherEase app. Please register as soon as possible, and by April 30 at latest, so that we can best prepare your child’s educational experience for next year!
All Jay Stream 8th Grade students will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment on Tuesday, April 14.

Jay Stream partnered with Junior Achievement to host a Career Fair on Friday that brought more than 35 professionals into the building to share their experiences with students
Your child will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) starting next week. The IAR is a state assessment that focuses on how our students are performing relative to the Illinois Math and Reading Standards. The IAR consists of two separate English language arts assessment sessions and three separate math assessment sessions that last 60-90 minutes each.
Your feedback is very important to us. Please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essential Survey. Our district and school will use this data and feedback to make continuous improvements to our systems, instruction, and social emotional program to support all students. Thank you!
Jayhawks celebrated their accomplishments for Trimester 2 is our all-school celebration this past Thursday. Students celebrated by sharing their talents in talent show performances, showing off their knowledge is a trivia competition amongst grade level teams, and enjoyed a treat from the Carol Stream Police Department. We are looking forward to all of the hard work and fun in third trimester!

The purpose of this letter is to keep you informed regarding a situation that occurred at Jay Stream Middle School this afternoon.
After school during today’s Boys Volleyball game, 9-1-1 was called for an individual in attendance who required medical assistance. Emergency responders arrived at approximately 4:45 p.m. and departed at approximately 5:15 p.m. Emergency care was provided on scene before transport. Because this occurred after school hours and did not impact the school day, no Hold-in-Place was called.
We are extremely grateful for the quick response and the immediate assistance provided by those on site and by emergency personnel.

While it is always our preference to have in-person learning, sometimes the weather creates a barrier for our students getting to school safely. We sincerely appreciate everyone's flexibility and understanding with the decision to implement an ELearning day this past Friday.
This Thursday, all students will take their iReady Math Winter Diagnostic Assessment. This important assessment helps update each student's personalized learning path on i-Ready and gives teachers and school leaders valuable insights to continue helping students meet their potential.
This Wednesday, all students will take their iReady Reading Winter Diagnostic Assessment. Students will take the iReady Math Diagnostic next week on January 22.
CCSD93’s award-winning Early Childhood Center (ECC) offers a play-based, nurturing environment where 3- and 4-year-olds learn through exploration, develop independence, strengthen problem-solving skills, build confidence and practice positive group interactions.

This past Friday, all students participated in a Trimester Celebration and the end of American Education Week. Students had fun watching the finals for our school-wide dodgeball tournament, participated in a trivia contest, and watched a video of staff members sharing how they were inspired by education. Thank you to the parents who came to visit our classrooms this past week to help us celebrate American Education Week!
To improve how we communicate with you, we’ve updated the phone number we use to send text messages. From now on, our standard text messages will be sent using the local 10-digit phone number: 630-326-6532.
November 17-21 is American Education Week when we celebrate the wide range and incredible team of support professionals who help our students succeed - from paraprofessionals and clerical staff, to bus drivers, technical specialists and student service workers. Every one of these individuals plays a vital role supporting students and families while keeping our schools running and thriving.
Students will have the opportunity to sign up for EDU After Hours beginning this week. Please encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to make up missing work, or to simply have a quiet place to work and study. EDU After Hours occurs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:15pm. The 4:15 activity bus is available for bus riders.

Wednesday, November 5 is an early release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 11:15. There are no after school activities on this day.
7th and 8th Grade students had fun at the Jay Stream Halloween Dance this past Friday hosted by our Student Council. Great job to all who participated in our dance competition!
6th Grade Students: Mark your calendars for Friday, November 21. Jay Stream will have it's annual 6th Grade Fun Night on Friday, November 21 from 5:30-7:00pm.
Boys Basketball, Girls Cheerleading and Wrestling practices start this week. Please remember that your child must have an up-to-date physical on file with the school nurse to participate. If your child's health physical expires during the season, it will need to be renewed before expiration. Please call the main office if you have any questions about the status of your child's health physical.
There is no school on Monday, October 13 or Tuesday, October 14. We look forward to seeing all Jayhawks back in the building on Wednesday!

This past Friday, all Jay Stream students participated in the Walk-A-Thon. We also had 130 students and staff participate in the Jayhawk Jaunt - the run before the Walk-A-Thon. We had great weather and celebrated with ice cream sandwiches and popsicles from the Carol Stream Police Department after the event.

Our school theme this year is Level Up. Last spring, students were presented with a few themes and this year's theme was voted the most popular.

A big component of this is mental health. We know it can be difficult to know where to start when looking for mental health resources. This is why CCSD93 is thrilled to partner with an organization called Referral GPS that makes it easier for families, staff and community members to find the right help for them.
